FAQs
Questions? Glad you asked.
What kind of works do you accept?
Currently, we are accepting short works of fiction and nonfiction, poetry, and art (digital, illustrations, photography, paintings, etc.).
What can my story/essay/poem/art piece be about?
We currently do not have a set theme (although we may do themed issues in the future), so please feel free to submit works on any subject. As long as they mean something to you, they will mean something to us and our readers!
What happens if I am accepted?
Let us be the first to congratulate you! You will receive an email with next steps. You will also be invited to join a private Discord server with your fellow cohorts of the issue you will be published in.
Why would I want to join the Discord server?
It is absolutely not necessary. But we wanted to create a community (almost like a club) with our authors/artists where like-minded creatives have a space to talk about anything from their work to getting advice on your artistic journey.
I submitted my work. When will I find out if it has been chosen?
Please allow us 3-4 weeks to go through submissions after the submission period has ended. You will hear back from us either way.
Can I submit more than once?
Although we only accept one (1) submission per person, per submission period, we do (highly!) encourage you to submit something for every future issue!
Will I get paid if I am accepted?
We are a very small, independent magazine. Although we do hope to work up to this, at this time, we cannot offer monetary compensation for accepted pieces. Instead, acceptance into an issue offers (in our opinion) the most valuable compensation of all: experience, a published piece to add to your portfolio, and a community of writers to learn and grow with.
I have other questions not listed here.
